WinCo Payment Methods

A WinCo grocery store.

WinCo is a discount grocery store that has very low prices. It’s a warehouse-style grocery store that sells lots of private-label products in bulk and it sells brand-name groceries as well. If you’re looking for a place where you can save money on groceries, you might want to visit this store because it has much lower prices than many other supermarkets.

WinCo doesn’t have as many locations as other grocery stores in Southern California but it does have a location in my area. It might also be worthwhile to travel to one of its stores if you’re planning to buy a lot of groceries because of its low prices. Like other discount grocery stores, this is a no-frills store that doesn’t offer some amenities that are available at more upscale supermarkets. For example, it doesn’t accept as many payment methods as other grocery stores.

Does WinCo Accept Major Credit Cards?

WinCo accepts debit cards but does not accept credit cards for in-store purchases. This is noteworthy because most stores accept credit cards. This is because WinCo is a no-frills grocery store that wants to keep its prices low and it doesn’t want to incur additional fees by accepting credit cards. You can use your credit card to reload your gift card online and then use the gift card to shop at the store, though.

WinCo also accepts cash and personal checks. Many grocery stores still accept checks as well but this is still worth mentioning because some retail stores have stopped accepting checks. You can also buy money orders at this grocery store.

Does WinCo Accept Mobile Payment Methods?

WinCo doesn’t accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, or other contactless payment methods for in-store purchases. It doesn’t accept PayPal or Venmo for in-store purchases either, unlike a few of its competitors. This is because the store doesn’t want to incur additional fees by accepting payments from mobile wallets.

You can also shop online at WinCo’s website, although its online store doesn’t accept PayPal. It doesn’t have any mobile apps, which is another way to minimize its expenses. There are a few other grocery stores that don’t have mobile apps either and they include Vallarta Supermarkets and Trader Joe’s.

Does WinCo Accept International Payment Methods?

It’s possible that WinCo can accept debit cards from foreign banks but because it could incur additional fees by accepting these cards, it seems unlikely.

Does WinCo Accept EBT?

WinCo accepts EBT for in-store purchases of qualifying items. Like other grocery stores, it sells lots of food products that you can buy with this payment option but it also sells non-edible products that you can’t buy with it.

WinCo doesn’t accept EBT for online purchases. It hasn’t signed up for the SNAP online purchasing pilot program so it can’t accept this payment option. If you’re looking for alternatives, there are several discount stores including Food 4 Less and Aldi that have signed up for this program and accept EBT for online orders.

Does WinCo Accept CareCredit?

WinCo doesn’t accept CareCredit. Like a few other discount stores, it doesn’t have pharmacies in its stores. If you’re looking for alternatives, Walmart is one of the few retail stores that accepts this form of payment.

Does WinCo Accept Buy Now, Pay Later?

WinCo accepts Sezzle. It doesn’t accept Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, or Zip.

Does WinCo Have Its Own Payment Methods?

WinCo sells branded gift cards. Its gift cards are also reloadable, which is noteworthy because not all grocery stores’ gift cards can be reloaded. You can also earn rewards from other credit cards by reloading a WinCo gift card.
