You can use most popular payment options at Rite Aid stores including cash and checks. Its stores also have terminals that support contactless payments so you can use Apple Pay and Google Pay for in-store purchases as well. However, Rite Aid doesn’t accept PayPal and Venmo. The other major drugstore chains accept these forms of payment for both in-store and online purchases. They have in-store terminals that can scan QR codes on a smartphone or other mobile device.

Drugstores like Rite Aid give you ways to pay with BNPL apps for both in-store and online purchases. Like Walgreens and CVS, Rite Aid accepts Afterpay at its stores as well as online. It also accepts Sezzle. Additionally, you can use CareCredit for retail purchases as well as healthcare services at Rite Aid. CareCredit is primarily used at hospitals and medical clinics but there are a few drugstores like Rite Aid and Walgreens where you can use it as well.

You can also use EBT at Rite Aid to buy qualifying products. These products include packaged food as well as supplements that are labeled as packaged food. You can’t use EBT to buy some of the other products that Rite Aid sells such as makeup, shampoo, hair dye, and stationery, though.

More Details About How Rite Aid Works

Like the other big-box drugstores, Rite Aid is similar to a large convenience store with a pharmacy in the back. It sells many products that aren’t available at convenience stores, though, including some premium items. For example, it has expanded its selection of beauty products with skin care products and it has also added more health food to its stores. Some locations also have pop-up GNC stores that sell brand-name GNC supplements.

One noteworthy thing about Rite Aid is its in-store ice cream shops. A long time ago, Rite Aid acquired the Thrifty ice cream factory in El Monte along with its parent drugstore chain. The drugstore has continued to operate in-store counters where you can buy soft-serve ice cream since then. Many of these in-store ice cream shops are located in Southern California and they may not be available at Rite Aid stores in other states that are far away from the ice cream factory.

Other Drugstores and Supplement Stores Where You Can Use Apple Pay

You can also buy consumer products, pick up prescription drugs, and get vaccinations at Walgreens. Some of its stores also have 24-hour drive-thru pharmacies.

Another major drugstore chain where you can visit in-store clinics that provide several healthcare services is CVS. This drugstore also sells personal care and beauty products and other merchandise. It’s a good place to go if you don’t know if other stores have a product that you absolutely need.

The supplement and nutrition store GNC sells a wide variety of supplements, including its own high-quality private-label supplements, but it’s not a traditional pharmacy. Some Rite Aid stores have pop-up supplement stores inside them that sell GNC’s supplements.

Another specialized supplement store, Vitamin Shoppe is another place where you can buy a wide variety of supplements, vitamins, and nutrition products. It doesn’t have in-store pharmacies or sell prescription drugs.

You can also visit the vitamin and supplement store Nutrishop to buy products for fitness and weight loss. Nutrishop isn’t a pharmacy either, though.
