There are also a few more ways to pay for your purchase at Grocery Outlet. It accepts the BNPL app Klarna. While some grocery stores don’t allow you to pay with BNPL because that can result in negative news coverage, it appears that this grocery store is okay with it so PayPal credit should also work there.

You can also use EBT for in-store purchases at Grocery Outlet but not online purchases. It hasn’t signed up for the SNAP online purchasing pilot program, unlike other discount grocery stores such as Food 4 Less, Walmart, and Aldi. It’s not clear why Grocery Outlet doesn’t participate in this program but there are a few other discount grocery store chains that haven’t signed up for it either. Some of these stores position themselves as no-frills stores that don’t offer amenities because they’re minimizing their costs.

More Background Information for Grocery Outlet

This deep-discount grocery store operates multiple departments that sell meat, produce, wine, packaged food, and other food products. The inventory at each store varies depending on what its buyers were able to find. As a result, Grocery Outlet may not carry some specific brand-name products that are always available at other grocery stores, although it’s likely that it will have similar products in stock. It’s one of the lowest-priced grocery stores, aside from Aldi, and you may see discounts of 80 percent or more on some products there. Of course, you might not want to buy some of these products.

Many of Grocery Outlet’s stores are located in low-income neighborhoods that don’t have any other grocery stores. The other nearby stores that sell groceries might be dollar stores or convenience stores. Grocery Outlet has some stores in Southern California neighborhoods that would otherwise be food deserts where shoppers would need additional transportation to reach other grocery stores. This is similar to the way Dollar General works. While Dollar General has more of a focus on rural markets, Grocery Outlet also has some rural locations.

Stores Like Grocery Outlet Where You Can Use Apple Pay

Another discount grocery store that’s known for very low prices, Aldi is also a highly efficient store that sells lots of private-label groceries.

The warehouse-style store Food 4 Less is a subsidiary of Kroger and one of the noteworthy things about it is that it sells Kroger’s private-label products, which are high quality.

The big-box discount store Big Lots also sells groceries as well as many other products.

Another warehouse-style grocery store, Smart & Final sells private-label groceries in bulk for low prices. It also sells branded products that are available at other traditional grocery stores.

You can also buy meat, produce, and dairy products for low prices at Superior Grocers. Unlike some of the other discount grocery stores, Superior Grocers’ stores have in-store pharmacies.
