You can visit the discount store or variety store Dollar Tree to pick up some bargain-priced household products, snacks, and personal care products. It still has very low prices even though some of its products now cost more than a dollar. Anyway, here are the payment options you can use at Dollar Tree.

You can use cash at Dollar Tree and you can even use large bills such as $50s and $100s there but the store may only be willing to accept them if the value of your purchase is close to the value of the bill. The store might not let you use a $50 to pay for a $5 purchase, for example.

Dollar Tree also accepts personal checks and may use Telecheck to decide whether to accept them. Additionally, you can use Apple Pay and Google Pay to make in-store purchases at Dollar Tree but you can’t use these mobile wallets on its website. You can use PayPal to shop online on its website, though. Dollar Tree’s in-store payment terminals support contactless payments so you can also use other mobile wallets such as Samsung Pay there.

BNPL is available as a financing option at Dollar Tree and you can use Zip, Sezzle, and PayPal credit there. You can also use EBT at Dollar Tree but this form of payment can only be used for qualifying products, so you can use it to buy food but you can’t use it to buy other household goods this store sells. Additionally, you can only use EBT for in-store purchases because Dollar Tree, like other variety stores, hasn’t signed up for the SNAP online purchasing pilot program. Many grocery stores have signed up for this program and can accept EBT for online orders, though.

Some Additional Things To Know About Dollar Tree

This variety store sells low-cost products such as canned food, candy bars, plastic utensils, and fruit juice. It also sells holiday decorations and because it has much lower prices than arts and crafts stores lots of people like to visit it during the holidays to buy decorations without spending a lot of money. Dollar Tree doesn’t stock as much food as a grocery store so if you want to buy fresh produce or meat, a discount grocery store like Grocery Outlet or Aldi will offer a larger selection of these products.

Other Variety Stores and Discount Stores Where You Can Use Apple Pay

If you’re willing to pay $5 per product instead of around $1 per product, you can visit the variety store Five Below instead. Some Dollar Tree stores now have special shelves where you can buy products for $3 or $5 as well, though.

The prominent dollar store Family Dollar was acquired by Dollar Tree. It doesn’t use a price point of $1 either and also stocks some more valuable merchandise.

Another variety store that sells groceries and many other products, 99 Cents Only historically tried to maintain a price point of $1 but has raised its prices because of inflation.

You can also buy snacks, soft drinks, ice cream, and other consumables for low prices at Family Dollar, which has recently added fresh produce in some locations as well. This store is also the only grocery store that’s available in some remote towns.
