Do-it Center Payment Methods

A Do-it center store.

If you’re planning to do some work at your house, you might want to visit a Do-it Center. These DIY stores are members of an association of independent hardware stores. They often display their owners’ names in addition to the Do-it Center brand. Do-it Centers sell products such as tools, gardening supplies, paint, cleaning products, lumber, and other building materials.

Because they’re independently operated, each store carries different merchandise and a rural store may not sell the same products as a suburban store. However, Do-it Centers are large warehouse stores so they have enough space to stock a wide variety of home improvement products. Here are the payment methods you can use at a Do-it Center.

Does Do-it Center Accept Major Credit Cards?

Do-it Center accepts credit cards and debit cards. Since its stores are independently operated, a Do-it Center might also be able to accept personal checks if its owner decides to accept them.

Do-it Center accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and other contactless payments for in-store purchases. I confirmed this information by looking up the Apple Maps profiles of its stores in my area.

This is noteworthy because several major hardware store chains don’t support third-party mobile wallets. So if you’re looking for an alternative to those stores that accepts Apple Pay, you might want to visit a Do-it Center. Ace Hardware stores typically accept contactless payments as well.

Do-it Center doesn’t have any mobile apps. This may be because it’s an association of independently operated stores, although Ace Hardware does have mobile apps. It does have an online store but its online store doesn’t accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal.

It’s likely that Do-it Center can accept JCB, UnionPay, and RuPay global cards by processing them through the Discover network. This process works at most chain stores, but not all of them.

Most Do-it Centers don’t accept EBT, but a few of them do accept it for in-store purchases. Do-it Centers are independently operated hardware stores that decide which inventory they want to stock and some of them sell enough groceries to accept this payment method. You can also use EBT to buy plants and seeds from a store that participates in the SNAP program. A few Ace Hardware stores can accept EBT as well.

Do-it Center doesn’t accept EBT for online purchases. It doesn’t participate in the SNAP online purchasing pilot program and stores can only accept this payment method if they sign up for this program. If you’re looking for an alternative, Walmart participates in this program and it sells seeds and plants.

Do-it Center doesn’t accept Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, Zip, or Sezzle. It might not accept any BNPL apps. Other hardware stores often support multiple BNPL apps, though.

Like other hardware stores, a Do-it Center may offer additional financing programs for large purchases.

What’s Another Useful Fact About Do-It Center?

Independently owned hardware stores may change associations so a Do-it Center may become an Ace Hardware store or vice versa.
