You have several payment options at Del Taco including cash, credit cards, and mobile wallets if you order your meal at one of its restaurants. You can use Apple Pay and Google Pay to order in this restaurant’s drive-thru lanes as well. But this restaurant’s apps don’t support any mobile wallets, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, and they don’t accept PayPal or Venmo either.

If you use a third-party delivery service to order tacos from this restaurant, you can use additional payment options such as cash on delivery if the service supports them. Like other quick-service restaurants, Del Taco has partnerships with several third-party delivery services.

In a few states where the Restaurant Meals Program is available, you can also use EBT to pay for your meal at a restaurant if you qualify for the RMP. Del Taco accepts EBT at many of its Southern California restaurants and it’s one of the more accessible choices if you plan to pay for your meal this way. If there isn’t a Del Taco in your neighborhood or the nearest location doesn’t accept EBT, you can also use this form of payment at lots of El Pollo Loco restaurants in Southern California.

Some More Reasons Why Del Taco Is Popular in Southern California

This restaurant has several specialty items that aren’t always available at other Mexican fast-food restaurants. In addition to tortas, or Mexican sandwiches, it also serves beer-battered fish tacos and you can order tamales there during the holiday season as well. Additionally, Del Taco serves french fries, unlike many other Mexican restaurants. Like Taco Bell, it gives you packets of salsa with your meal and doesn’t have a fresh salsa bar. Del Taco also has relatively low prices and that’s another reason why it’s popular.

Another useful fact about Del Taco is that its restaurants have 24-hour drive-thru lanes. While many fast-food burger restaurants in Los Angeles have 24-hour drive-thru lanes, I haven’t seen this option at many other Mexican restaurants. You should also know that a Del Taco restaurant that’s open late at night might be operating with fewer employees than usual so there may be a line of cars there.

Alternatives to Del Taco Where You Can Also Pay With Apple Pay

A Mexican fast-food restaurant that specializes in grilled chicken entrees, El Pollo Loco does give you freshly made salsa when you order there.

While it’s more of a fast-food burger restaurant than a Mexican restaurant, Jack in the Box does serve tacos and Churros as well as burgers and fries. It also serves onion rings.

Another Mexican restaurant with a few popular specialties like Mexican pizza and 7-layer burritos, Taco Bell is another common sight in Southern California.

Best known for its beer-battered fish tacos, the Mexican seafood restaurant Rubio’s also serves shrimp and lobster tacos.

Another popular Mexican restaurant, Baja Fresh was one of the first fast-casual restaurants to introduce concepts like not storing ingredients in the freezer. Its ingredients and salsa are always fresh.

While Taco John’s is very popular in Mountain West states like Nevada, Wyoming, and Montana, it doesn’t have any California locations.
