Many of these gas stations have Extra Mile convenience stores that sell snacks, soft drinks, coffee, and other consumables. They’re usually located near major roads, highways, and freeways. Additionally, they’re often open 24 hours, so you can buy snacks and energy drinks at an Extra Mile store when other grocery stores are closed. Chevron doesn’t have the lowest gas prices in my area, but it adds an additive called Techron to its gas that reduces your car’s maintenance costs. Other major gas station chains, such as Shell and Valero, have their own proprietary fuel additives and also charge premium prices for their gasoline. Does Chevron Accept Major Credit Cards?
Chevron accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards so it supports all four of the major US payment networks. It accepts both credit cards and debit cards.
Chevron also accepts cash and you might even receive a discount for paying with cash instead of using a credit card at its gas stations. These gas stations are typically franchised so they may be able to accept personal checks as well if the franchise owner allows that.
Does Chevron Accept Mobile Payment Methods?
Chevron accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and other contactless payment methods for in-store purchases. I confirmed this information by looking up the Apple Maps profiles of several Chevron stations in my area. There were a lot of them, and this is also worth mentioning.
Chevron also has rewards apps for the iPhone and Android phones. If you install these apps, you can use them to pay at the pump with mobile wallets as well as PayPal and Venmo. Other major gas station chains typically have apps that support these payment options as well, but independent stations and smaller gas station chains might not have their own mobile apps.
Does Chevron Accept EBT?
Chevron accepts EBT at its Extra Mile convenience stores for qualifying products such as packaged food. You can’t use EBT to buy gas, though.
Chevron doesn’t accept EBT for online orders, which is normal for convenience stores although there’s one exception. If you’re looking for an alternative, 7-Eleven accepts this payment option for online orders in Washington and may expand the program to other states later.
Does Chevron Accept Buy Now, Pay Later?
Chevron has accepted Klarna since 2022. It also accepts Zip at some locations. It doesn’t accept Afterpay, Affirm, or Sezzle. It’s still noteworthy that Chevron accepts some BNPL apps because gas stations and their convenience stores usually don’t accept this payment option.
What Other Payment Methods Does Chevron Accept?
Chevron has credit cards that give you discounts on fuel at both Chevron and Texaco gas stations. Like many other retailers’ credit cards, these cards are issued by Synchrony Bank.
Chevron also accepts fleet cards from Voyager and WEX. Its gas stations provide fuel to commercial drivers, such as truckers, as well as individual consumers.

Chevron sells top-tier gasoline and while several of its competitors do so as well, on the West Coast it has a reputation for selling very high quality gasoline. Some drivers prefer Chevron over other premium gasoline brands.

Valero also has many gas stations in Southern California. Many of them have Circle K convenience stores attached to them, although Valero and Circle K are separate companies.
Shell also operates gas stations that sell premium fuel. They typically have Food Mart convenience stores and are often open 24 hours.
7-Eleven convenience stores are typically open 24 hours. Many of them are stand-alone stores but there are also 7-Eleven gas stations with attached convenience stores.

76 is another major gas station brand. Its gas stations frequently have 24-hour convenience stores attached to them as well.
Mobil also has gas stations throughout Southern California and many of them also have attached convenience stores.
ampm is Arco’s convenience store brand and you’ll see ampm convenience stores at Arco gas stations. They’re typically open 24 hours, which is why they’re called ampm stores.
