Burlington Payment Methods

A Burlington store.

Burlington is a discount department store. It sells closeout merchandise so it has much lower prices than traditional department stores but may not have some products that are available elsewhere. Its merchandise includes sportswear and dresses as well as accessories such as sunglasses and perfume. Burlington also sells household products such as pots and pans. Individual stores may carry different inventory depending on what’s currently available.

Burlington also stays open late in the evening, so its stores may still be open when other department stores have closed for the night. It has many locations in Southern California strip malls and since its stores are relatively large they often serve as the anchor stores for their strip malls. It also has stores inside some indoor malls as well. Anyway, here are the payment methods that you can use at Burlington.

Does Burlington Accept Major Credit Cards?

Burlington accepts Visa, American Express, Mastercard, and Discover cards. It accepts both credit cards and debit cards and it accepts cash and personal checks as well.

Does Burlington Accept Mobile Payment Methods?

Burlington accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and other contactless payment methods for in-store purchases. I confirmed this by looking up the profiles of its discount department stores in my area on Apple Maps. Most of its direct competitors accept contactless payments as well, but this store could also be considered a competitor of big-box discount stores that don’t accept contactless payments.

Burlington has a website but doesn’t have any mobile apps. Shoppers typically visit this type of store in person to see if it has any unexpected bargains in stock. It’s like going on a treasure hunt. You can use PayPal to make purchases on Burlington’s website, though.

Does Burlington Accept International Payment Methods?

Burlington accepts Discover cards so it’s very likely that it can accept JCB and UnionPay cards as well. It can process these cards through the Discover network and this acceptance method also allows it to accept RuPay global cards.

Does Burlington Accept EBT?

Burlington accepts EBT for in-store purchases at a few of its stores, but most of them don’t accept this payment method. This indicates that some of its stores sell enough groceries to satisfy the EBT program requirements because you can’t use EBT to buy clothing. It also indicates that Burlington’s inventory varies between stores, which is normal for an off-price retailer. It’s noteworthy that Burlington accepts this form of payment because department stores usually don’t accept EBT, although there are a few exceptions such as dd’s DISCOUNTS.

Burlington doesn’t participate in the SNAP online pilot program, so you can’t use this payment option to make online purchases at its stores that accept EBT. If you’re looking for an alternative, Walmart sells clothing and groceries and it participates in this program. Many traditional grocery stores participate in this program as well but they typically don’t sell clothing.

Does Burlington Accept Buy Now, Pay Later?

Burlington accepts Zip, Sezzle, and PayPal credit for online orders. It doesn’t accept Afterpay, Affirm, or Klarna, though.

Does Burlington Accept Other Payment Methods?

Burlington has branded gift cards and it also has its own store credit card. Like many other retailers, it has a partnership with Synchrony Bank and this bank issues its credit card. This is noteworthy because some discount stores don’t have store credit cards.

What’s Another Useful Fact About Burlington?

Burlington was originally called Burlington Coat Factory. I think the shortened name is better because this store doesn’t just sell coats and clothing, it also sells household goods and other products.
